In fall 2022, part of our homeschool curriculum was to watch a movie and discuss it along with its score/soundtrack. We did this every Friday, and it was fun!

When we started our 2023 school year, I decided to scale it down to one Friday each month. Planning a movie and discussion every Friday was tedious!

We discuss the director, the composer, if they are a “Dynamic Duo” (a pair that works together regularly), and we find recurring themes/styles in both direction and composition.

Most people can spot a John Williams or Danny Elfman score, but can they recognize ones by Hans Zimmer, Alan Silvestri, or Michael Giacchino? (My girls can!)
